This Sky Will Make Me Sick.

This will always be my favourite song; it never fails to make me cry whenever I hear it live.

Uni Project: Amazing Baby At The Old Blue Last In Shoreditch

For our last university project of our first year (eeek) we were set the task to film and edit a 3 minute broadcast piece which was suitable for either MTV, daytime television or late night television.

Despite some initial set backs myself and my group were given the amazing opportunity to interview upcoming Brooklyn based band Amazing Baby (
http://www.myspace.com/amazingbaby) just before their midnight set at the Old Blue Last pub in Shoreditch. Simon and Will were utterly amazing people to interview as they just had so much to say and were extremely entertaining so it was a shame we had to cut atleast 12 minutes of the interview out.

Although the feedback we recieved was a joke in my opinion; I am so amazingly proud of what we achieved in such a small amount of time and really think we managed to encapsulate the band and what they're all about within the short amount of time we had.

Now My Heart Is Exposed Again.

I dont think I've gone a day without listening to this wonderful song since I first heard it a couple of weeks ago. Elena Tonra has got such a beautiful and stunning voice; and I think she's simply amazing. The lyrics to 'Bones' are gorgeous and probably strike a chord with many a teenage girl out there.

Check out some of her other stuff at http://www.myspace.com/elenatonra

The Fall Through Your Fingers In Flakes.

I love a good quote and have a 50 page word document full of them so I thought I'd share with you some of my favourite quotes and ask you what your's are?

For what it's worth: it's never too late or, in my case, too early to be whoever you want to be. There's no time limit, stop whenever you want. You can change or stay the same, there are no rules to this thing. We can make the best or the worst of it. I hope you make the best of it. And I hope you see things that startle you. I hope you feel things you never felt before. I hope you meet people with a different point of view. I hope you live a life you're proud of. If you find that you're not, I hope you have the strength to start all over again.
The Curious Tale Of Benjamin Button

"Go after her, fuck, don't sit there and wait for her to call, go after her because that's what you should do if you love someone, don't wait for them to give you a sign 'cause it might never come, don't let people happen to you, don't let me happen to you, or her, she's not a fucking television show or tornado. there are people i might have loved had they gotten on the airplane or run down the street after me or called me up drunk at four in the morning because they need to tell me right now and because they cannot regret this and i always thought i'd be the only one doing crazy things for people who would never give enough of a fuck to do it back or to act like idiots or be entirely vulnerable and honest and making someone fall in love with you is easy and flying 3000 miles on four days notice because you can't just sit there and do nothing and breathe into telephones is not everyone's idea of love but it is the way i can recognize it because that is what i do. go scream it and be with her in meaningful ways because that is beautiful and that is generous and that is what loving someone is, that is raw and that is unguarded, and that is all that is worth anything, really."
Harvey Milk
"Look, in my opinion, the best thing you can do is find a person who loves you for exactly what you are. Good mood, bad mood, ugly, pretty, handsome, what have you, the right person is still going to think the sun shines out your ass. That's the kind of person that's worth sticking with."
Juno
'Im selfish, impatient, and a little insecure. I make mistakes, I am out of control, and at times hard to handle, but if you can't handle me at my worst, then you sure as hell don't deserve me at my best'
Marylin Monroe
"I think there's something not right how people cannot like someone who they've never met, in my eyes i think that we might sometimes manage to forget that we are all sheep from the same flock, we're just all a bunch of kids and we listen to rock, isn't that what it's about? they say don't judge a book by it's cover, but people keep on judging each other and not for the things that should count. a friend of mine once said to me, there's two kinds of people in the world - it's not whether you're black or white, or if you're a boy or a girl, it doesn't matter if you're straight or gay, if you're a worker or the boss, it's just that some people are cunts, but thankfully most are not. i'll try to put a thought in all of your heads, they say that a stranger is just a friend, one that you haven't met. if you're out tonight and you meet someone, then don't hesitate to politely shake their hand and just say, alright mate. if that person turns out to be a cunt, then frankly nothing's lost, but as i said earlier, then the chances are they're not"
'There's Two Kind Of People' by James J Barrett
"You know how when you were a little kid and you believed in fairy tales, that fantasy of what your life would be, white dress, prince charming who would carry you away to a castle on a hill. You would lie in bed at night and close your eyes and you had complete and utter faith. Santa Claus, the Tooth Fairy, Prince Charming, they were so close you could taste them, but eventually you grow up, one day you open your eyes and the fairy tale disappears. Most people turn to the things and people they can trust. But the thing is its hard to let go of that fairy tale entirely cause almost everyone has that smallest bit of hope, of faith, that one day they will open their eyes and it will come true. At the end of the day faith is a funny thing. It turns up when you don't really expect it. Its like one day you realize that the fairy tale may be slightly different than you dreamed. The castle, well, it may not be a castle. And its not so important happy ever after, just that its happy right now. See once in a while, once in a blue moon, people will surprise you , and once in a while people may even take your breath."

"If for one minute you think youre better than a sixteen year old girl in a Green Day t-shirt, you are sorely mistaken. Remember the first time you went to a show and saw your favorite band. You wore their shirt, and sang every word. You didnt know anything about scene politics, haircuts, or what was cool. All you knew was that this music made you feel different from anyone you shared a locker with. Someone finally understood you. This is what music is about."
Gerard Way
'The best thing for me is when we're some 15 year old girl's favourite band in the world, we're the first concert she's ever been to. We just wanted to give her an album she could enjoy, rather than try and convince people that we're a real band and we're cool.'

And You Found Me When I Couldnt Even See Myself.

After realising that I haven't posted a blog for ages I have decided that after a day of procasinating now would be the best time to update you all in the wonderful world of me.

As I said a few posts back one of my recent uni assignments was to create 1500 word profile on a band of my choice. After alot of set backs I finally got a reply from Hitchin based band Exit Avene who I have been a fan of for a long time. Since recieving my mark back yesterday which was a very pleasing B, I am now alot more confident in my abilities after originally thinking that I hadn't done very well at all.

Here is my final interview with the bands bassist Mitch:

The beginning was much like any other band; friends coming together with the intent of playing music and having a good time. However over the last couple of years Exit Avenue have gone from strength to strength and have rapidly built up a following of dedicated fans. With a hectic 2008 behind them Kerrang! caught up with the bands bassist Mitch to find out what 2009 holds for them and how exactly jet packs and bouncy castles fit into their future plans …

Hitchin based Exit Avenue formed in 2002 after members Nick [backing vocals/drums], Sam [drums/backing vocals] and Neil [lead vocals/electronics] met at school with Neil then going on to meet Mitch [bass/backing vocals] at a music group over the summer. Their 2007 release of E.P “A Thousand Odd Lines” put them on the map and gained them a substantial amount of commercial success which saw their fan base explode all across the country.

‘We owe everything to our fans! As far as I'm concerned we don't get a chance to say thank-you enough’. When Exit Avenue formed in 2002 they clearly weren’t expecting to achieve such a phenomenal amount of success without even releasing an album. But like many other bands of today this is a band that has proved that with the support of your fans behind you anything is possible. Since starting to tour a mere 3 years ago the boys have developed a relentless attitude to touring and have had the opportunity to play alongside the likes of Pendulum, Wolf Am I (previously Kill The Arcade), Enter Shikari and You Me At Six. This isn’t something that they take for granted and Mitch is eager to point out that they are extremely grateful for the opportunity to tour with anyone. Although given the chance Mitch wouldn’t turn down the chance to tour with Queen or James Brown ‘They were always the best performers out there. Even in my eyes’. But with all this touring can we expect anything else from the boys any time soon? Mitch explains ‘We have always got something exciting going on, but until anything is confirmed we don't try our luck, you'll just have to keep checking back because you never know. But what I can tell you for certain is that things are about to get hectic!’.

With their influences coming from old school bands such as Metallica, classic artists such as James Brown, Happy Hardcore, Nu-Metal and Hip Hop with a bit of Bob Marley thrown in for good measure it’s fair to say that Exit Avenue can probably cover every genre of music in some way or another. ‘We’re inspired by almost everything that we see around us and anything that we come across in our lives. We try to paint a picture with our lyrics so to speak’. With a pretty impressive collection of singles and their first two E.P’s ‘A Thousand Odd Lines’ and ‘Made For The Arcade’ selling impressively on ITunes, can we expect a debut album from Exit Avenue anytime soon? ‘We have been talking about bringing out an album, but I think we're just gonna keep recording and see how it goes, maybe instead of an album we might release a string of extend play E.P's instead’. Exit Avenue’s passion for making music and doing what they love for their job is rivalled only by their drive and hunger to better themselves as professional musicians although Mitch still can’t put his finger on what sets Exit Avenue apart from the rest. One thing’s he’s pretty damn sure of though is the bands onstage presence ‘We take pride in our stage show and the energy we can create, we love performing and we hope people like us performing as well’.

In some ways 2009 could be seen as a fresh start for Exit Avenue as things took a turn for the worst for the boys last year with a band member leaving and then seeming to do everything in their way to ruin the band. However Mitch is optimistic about this and points out ‘As the saying goes what doesn’t kill you makes you stronger’. So with this fresh outlook on life what are the bands plans for 2009? ‘Well the plan is to push ourselves as far as we can in the music industry without killing ourselves or anyone else and just to have fun while we are doing it. We don't know what to expect by the end of 2009 but we will be grateful for anything that we get done and get chance to do’.

Having the opportunity to be in a band with 4 of your best mates and travel the world must be one of the best feelings in the world right? Mitch agrees but also believes that the buzz Exit Avenue receive from their army of fans is pretty amazing too; ‘No drug can even come close to how amazing that sensation is and how amazing it is to see the fans singing along with Neil’. Aside from their fans Mitch also likes to reminisce of a certain time in London; ‘I pulled Nicks trousers down in front of a coach load of our fans that came to see us play at the Mean Fiddler, and then Sam ran up and pulled down his boxers, the best bit about this was it happened on Tottenham Court Road’. Oh and not forgetting about a certain time at Hitchin’s Rhythms Of The World festival; ‘I stole Sam's line of "the summer starts here", He was really excited he came up with it but I stole his thunder good and proper that day’.

Throughout their short but so far successful career Exit Avenue have managed to achieve many things that young bands just starting out can only dare to dream of. But Exit Avenues ultimate aim as a band is something even Metallica might find a little difficult; ‘The ultimate aim for Exit Avenue is to be bigger than Queen! Just watch them live at Wembley stadium on YouTube and you'll know why!!’ Mitch was also happy to mention that the bands probably more manageable aim is to make a living from something they love but to make sure they have fun whilst doing so ‘The music industry can suck your life and soul away if you're not careful. So it’s very important to keep the good people in your life as close as you can!’

So with future plans to be bigger than Queen just where exactly would Mitch like to see Exit Avenue in 10 years time? Well the answer is pretty damn simple; ‘I would have liked us to have got to the top and then wasted it all away on some really cool jet packs. By 2019 I’m hoping they would have invented jet packs in hoping if not then bouncy castle hire’.

With only 2 weeks left before the end of my first year we only have one exiciting uni project left which is to create, film and edit a 3 minute clip of a programme of our choice. We have our hopes set high and hope to create a live music / chat piece and are aiming to interview eirher Tubelord, Abe Vigoda or The Mae Shi after our original plan to base the programme of The Virgins fell through.

In other non related uni news I am looking forward to the summer with a holiday to France coming up in the next couple of weeks as well as attending Reading Festival.

The Secret Millionaire.

I love this programme; it always makes me realise how bloody lucky I am to have been brought up in a nice and loving family, in a lovely house in an area which isn't ridden with knife and gun crime. Suprisingly enough it hasn't made me cry yet although I still have another 4o mins left so I doubt I'll stay dry eyed for that long. I'd love to be finicially stable enough to do something like this one day, maybe not with a million pounds but just to have the opportunity to make somones life alot happier and give them a better standard of living.

P.S: I just cried a bit.

P.P.S : R.I.P Jade Goody. Whether you love her or hate her no one deserves to die of cancer aged 27 to leave behind 2 little boys who will never get their mum back again and no mother ever deserves to bury their daughter.

Sea Within A Sea

I really cannot decide wether I love the new Horrors song or I hate it; however one thing that is certain is that it's too bloody long at 8 and a half minutes!
It's so different to their Strange House material and they've obviously decided to go into a completely different direction with their new album Primary Colours. Faris has clearly been alot of Jesus and The Mary Chain with a little bit of synth pop mixed in. Plus I think he sounds a bit like Morrisey in this particular song.
Only time will tell but maybe this time around The Horrors will be a bit more socially excepted as this new stuff appears to be alot more listener friendly when compared to old songs like Sheena Is A Parasite

I'm In Awe Of Everything I See In Your Way.

Technically I shouldn't really like this video as it's for Elliot Minors new single but I do actually think it's pretty cute and quirky when compared to their old videos. Something about it makes me smile and it's set in Japan which is always an added bonus.

P.S - I quite like the song too.

Profile Piece.

For a recent uni assignment we were given the task of writing a 500 word profile of a band, which turned out to be alot harder than I first expected. Due to bands not getting back to my emails or simply stopping replying to me I eventually settled on doing a friends band but I'm still quite pleased with my finished piece:

“We don’t take ourselves too seriously. At our last gig in Birmingham Deev decided to go dressed as the Joker, makeup and all” jokes Bound By Sirens vocalist and guitarist David Dring.
Mansfield based Bound By Sirens were formed in late 2007 after the realisation that their home town was becoming worryingly full of mediocre tribute and metal bands. “It’s nothing too exciting really. We wanted to change the music scene that Mansfield has at the minute” With their influences touching on many different music genres which vary all the way from Metallica to Glassjaw, Bound By Sirens believe that their sound is different to the rest. “Because we have different influences it gives our music a unique sound. No 2 songs sound the same and it keeps things interesting”.

Since forming the band have been working hard to create their debut E.P, which in a time where many teenage bands don’t get past the stages of performing in friends garages is something that the band are incredibly proud of. However not content with just producing an E.P the boys also have their aims set much higher than and by the end of 2009 hope to have produced an album full of quality music. Nevertheless this isn’t a challenge that Bound By Sirens are taking lightly “We don't intend to rush and produce fillers simply to make an album. We want to be sure that every song is different and unique but also incorporates everything we feel needs to be in there”.

Even with their songs being influenced by anything and everything from politics to the French Revolution and the epic Robert De Niro film ‘Raging Bull’ the band are keen to insist that they’re songs aren’t all doom and gloom but instead happy and it’s just “certain things interest us in a way that we decide to incorporate into our music”.

In a day and age when many young bands just starting out can only dream of chart topping success; Bound By Sirens understand that success comes gradually and with time. “The fact is we're all giving 110% and you can’t ask for any more than that. We're not prepared to get in over our head with anything so we’re just going to take it one step at a time”.

Our next assignment following this is to interview a band and then write a 1500 word profile about them. I've set my hopes high and am trying my hardest to find an established band or artist who are willing to let me interview them; however this is once again proving more difficult then I first thought as my chosen subjects are either busy in the studio or their management or just not replying to my emails. But hopefully I will find someone eventually...

500 Days Of Summer.

This looks like really really cute and summery film:

'The film tells the story of the relationship between a woman, Summer, who doesn't believe in true love and a man, Tom, described as a hopeless romantic, who falls in love with her. Over a span of 500 days, it is told from the perspective of Tom, who is influenced by pop music and breaks out into song throughout the movie'

Wednesday 4 March 2009

I Shuffle Into The Sunrise.

After begining to think that Jack Penate had dissapeared into the blackhole I heard a song on Radio 1 and was instantly hooked to it. I was then extremely happy to discover that this so called song was Mr Penates next single.

Tonight's Today is an instant summery tune with a salsa vibe which could easily make you feel like you are on the beach relaxing in the summer sun or at a festival in the blazing sun. This single is heading in a different direction to his older material and is much more melodical and upbeat when compared to old singles such as Torn On The Platform and Second Minute or Hour which are alot more guitar based and in your face.

Mr Peante goes on a very mini tour at the end of this month with 3 dates at Brightons Concorde 2, Londons Heaven and Manchesters Ruby Lounge. Although this tour isn't exactly ground breaking it does hopefully hint that a follow up to 2007's Matinee is in the pipeline.

It's Just What All Young Lovers Do.

I've decided I'm slightly in love with The Maccabees after listening to them non stop for 3 hours earlier. I don't know what it is but theres something about their music that makes me incredibly happy and cheerful. Whether it be the mellow and laid back 'Toothpaste Kisses' to the more upbeat and loud 'Latchmere listening to them never fails to bring a smile to my face.

In other news I am currently lusting over a delightfully tacky pair of Marc Jacon shoes. It's a shame they cost £431...

You Are My Sweetest Downfall.

Today is the first time in 3 years that I havent been up at 8 the day Mcfly tour tickets go on sale. To some people this may not be a massive deal (it probably isn't but it means something to me) but I kinda feel like it's the end of an era for me which is kind of sad in some respects.

I've always loved Mcfly and do still have a soft spot for them but I think I've grown out of loving them, becoming slightly obsessed with them and just having to have amazing tickets to see them on each tour. When I saw them last November I just didn't get the same buzz I used too despite it being an amazing show because whether you like them or not, it's hard to deny they don't put on a good show and are pretty amazing live.

Gone are the days when me, Dani and Katie happily queued outside Wembley on a freezing cold December day for 9 hours just to get to the front. I might just be getting old but I have lost the patience to cope with Mcfly fans who would happily stopm on you and kick you to get to the barrier.

Ah well c'est la vie; Mcfly have given me alot of happy memories over the past years and introduced me to 2 of the bestest friends in the world so for that I'm grateful.

So I'll Stay Around And Watch This Town Fall Down To Its Knees.

Im bored and can't sleep so decided I would put this time to good use and write a blog.

In all honesty not a great deal has happened recently but I'm suprisingly chirpy despite having an emotional breakdown last night over the most stupidest thing ever (although im pretty sure it was something else that started this).

I feel im finally begining to make some progress at uni and am so far pleased with my grades and feel that they are fair when looking over the comments my tutors have given me. Whats suprised me most was the B+ I recieved for my Nirvana presentation as when I was doing it I really did feel that I was a jibbering wreck who was talking far too quickly and not making any sense at all. Next week is our deadline for our album cover project, our pop promo analysis, and our album cover esssay and i'm hoping I recieve good marks for these as I have actually worked quite hard on them, and would quite like too start recieving more B/C grades for work compared to my current C/D.

This past weekend I actually had off work for once so obviously put this to good use and had a weekend of drunken antics down in Epsom. Although Epsom is pretty shit when it comes to places to go for a night out; you really can't beat a good old evening at Spoons followed by a lovely walk back to Aimees. I'm really hoping myself, Aimee and Pauaa do actually find a house down there for next year as I'm really begining to feel that moving out from my house would benefit me alot and would actually teach me how to use my money wisely which is something i've become TERRIBLE at recently.

Not much has really happened on the music scene recently except purchasing my Funeral For A Friend ticket for March 29th which I am thoroughly looking forward too minus their support of People In Planes who I think are pretty rubbish but this is made up by the fact that We Are The Ocean who I have wanted to see for ages (Im clearly a scene/emo kid at heart). Nothing will ever top them having Cancer Bats as support for their last tour but I wont complain. Apart from this I have been listening to alot of The Maccabees, Bat For Lashes, You me At Six and The Cure. Oh and i'm hopefully going to Reading as the guessed line up's I've seen look AMAZING!

I've been thinking alot recently about my friendships and have started to realise that I don't really have anyone I consider to be my best friend anymore and I actually find this quite sad. I miss having someone I can tell absolutely anything and everything too without feeling like an idiot. This isnt to say that Im not grateful for the friends I have now as they're actually amazing but literally every person I have considered to be my best friend has fucked off and stopped talking to me for reasons unknown (although they were all boys which may explain something). The downside of this is that I now hardly trust anyone atall and it takes ages for anyone to gain my trust which isn't very good.

Well I suppose I better go now as writing this has taken up 30 minutes and I have 2 lectures tomorrow followed by a evening filled with Nandos, cake making, pancakes, present giving, drinking games and Wetherspoons.

xx

Whats Their Age Again?

One of the biggest stories in the world of music this week was the much awaited announcement of Blink 182's reformation after a 4 year hiatus. With Travis Barker simply announcing '"we used to play music together, and we decided we're going to play music together again" the pop punk world reverted back to their 14 year old selves in a whirlwind of nostalgia and teenage admiration. As well as reforming a world tour has also been scehduled for the summer of 2009; which I feel will be intersting since Travis quite farily claimed that he was never flying again following his near fatal plane crash in the summer.

Despite feeling excited at the thought of seeing Blink live for the first time, I can't help but feel that they are flogging a dead horse and trying to make up for Angels and Airwaves and +44. Will it really be the same now that all 3 members have grown up and have children of their own?

I guess we'll just have to wait and see but I really hope it works out for them becasue they were simply amazing in their heyday.

PS - In other news Limp Bizkit have also announced that they are reforming but the less said about that the better...

You're Not Designed To Be Alone.

I've just found this quote from The Curious Case Of Benjamin Button and I think its quite beautiful...

You can change or stay the same, there are no rules to this thing. We can make the best or the worst of it. I hope you make the best of it. And I hope you see things that startle you. The Promise That He Made Left Broken On The Floor.

Boredom and lack of money leads me to things like this...

WHAT IS YOUR ZODIAC SIGN ?
Scorpio.

WHAT MAKES YOU FEEL LIKE A KID AGAIN ?
When i'm at my Nans and she offers to do everything for me or pay for everything I want to buy despite having the money. Generally just being fussed over by the elderly.

WHAT IS YOUR WEAKNESS ?
Baby animals which are preferabley of the dog, cat, otter, horse or pig variety. Or just anyone being nice to me straight after acting like a complete twat as it generally leads to me forgetting about past events.

WHAT CANDLE SCENT IS YOURE FAVORITE ?
Any really, I'm not that fussed as long as the house smells nice; although i am fond of many Yankee Candle scents with one in particular being 'Iced Pumpkin'.

WHAT IS YOUR NATIONALITY ?
British/Caucasian... whatever takes your fancy really.

WHAT KIND OF MUSIC DO YOU DISLIKE THE MOST ?
I like most types of music however perusing music channels this morning and coming across Chipmunk the apparent 'grime scene saver' made me rethink this. Also whatever genre Glasvegas come under as listening to them in all their Scottish glory makes me want to stick glass in my eyes and ears due to their aura of depressivness.

WHAT SPORT DO YOU DISLIKE MOST ?
Darts; If i was that fussed about watching old men throw things at a circular board I would go to my local and give them my support. Instead I am given the option to watch it from the comfort of my own home for 4 hours on certain saturdays.

WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE DRINK ?
Diet Coke; Diet Coke and Cherry Sourz; Malibu and Diet Coke... I think you get the jist.

CAN YOU COOK ?
I can according to my mother.

DO YOU GO OUT WITH YOUR FRIENDS OFTEN ?
I havent been out much this week due to being snowed into my house for the majority of it. However during normal weather I often go out with my friends and have many amazing times.

LAST TIME YOU WERE IN TROUBLE ?
Not trouble really but when hardly anyone turned up to contextual studies due to the fact that none of us are pyscic. But this has all been sorted now and all is well and good in the world.

WHAT KIND OF PHONE DO YOU HAVE ?
Samsung Tocco.

HAVE YOU EVER BEEN TO A STRIP CLUB ?
Sadly no.

WHATS IN YOUR CD PLAYER ?
Ermmmm Frank Turner - Love Ire and Song.

WHAT WAS YOUR LAST ALCAHOLIC BEVERAGE ?
Ammeretto and Coke maybeee?

HAVE YOU EVER BEN ON AN AIRPLANE ?

Recent Observations...

Im bored and practically snowed into my house so I thought I would do something worthwhile with my time...

Clumsyness
Recently I've become worryingly clumsy and now considerite to be a rather successful day if I manage not to get food down my top or spill something. This may be one of the reasons why I haven't ventured into the marvellous snow we have been having; however this is possibly a good thing as I live on the top of a hill and wouldn't be suprised if I managed to slip and slide all the way to the bottom.

Freddie From Skins
I think I am slightly in love with him.

Spotify
I would like to think that this is the future of music and sharing music. I'm not afraid to admit that quite alot of my music collection is downloaded from Limewiere or ripped of Youtube; this isnt because I can't be bothered to go out and buy CD's because I can and do. However Im not the type of person who will just buy a CD on a whim because I like a couple of songs of the album, I have to like atleast half of the songs on their before commiting to the purchase and actually spending my hard earned money. Although Spotify is currently an invite only programme its amazing how much music is actually on there and how many new artists I've listened to since installing it but best of all ITS LEGAL.

Emarosa
My favourite new band thanks to Spotify. I'd listened to them briefly before but never really got into them that much but 'Heads Or Tails Real Or Not' randomly started playing on a playlist and I fell in love. The lead singer Jason's voice has so much energy to it and really brings passion and feeling to each song.

Girls With Hairbands Around Their Forehead
I mean the girls I often see with hairbands which are pretty much just around their forehead; not near any hair; just literally sitting there. I think you look like a twat tbh and you make me laugh quite alot so thanks for making my day.

T Mobile Advert
I actually LOVE this advert it always makes me smile in a sense makes me feel proud to be English.

My Super Sweet 16 UK
The teenagers on this show actually make me fill with rage due to the fact that they're so worryingly spoilt and think the entire world revolves around them.

Ergh fuck.

Friday 2 January 2009

Goodbye 2008.

So 2008 has been and gone and a brand new year is here. Alot has changed and it's been a good and bad year overall but it could have been worse when i think about it...

Ive made some amazing new friends but also lost my best friend through no apparent reason and that makes me sad that people find it possible to just forget 14 years of knowing each other just like that. I've also drifted away from people as everyone has begun to have their own seperate lifes with different people but I hope in 2009 I can fix some amazing friendships that I have. But despite this 2008 allowed me to meet some amazing new people who I am very thankful to have met and hope my amazing memories of 2009 will include them.

Ive been to some amazing gigs this year and managed to see Junkyard Choir, My Last Mistake, Skies Of Until, Luke Pickett, Sex Drugs & Politics, Black Kids, Kate Nash, Tinchy Stryder, Friendly Fires, Jack Penate, New Found Glory, Paramore, Kids In Glass Houses, In Case Of Fire x 2, Funeral For A Friend x 2, Attack Attack, Cancer Bats, Mcfly, Avenue & Reemer as well as locals bands. So it hasnt been a bad year on the music side of things although seeing Kings Of Leon and City & Colour would have made my year.

I've spent too much money on clothes, shoes, Starbucks, make up, band merch, gig tickets, train tickets, alcohol, food, cds, dvds and random objects from camden such as Kanye West glasses but I really doubt thats going to change this year. Although if I do happen to go to Japan, Cardiff, Edinburgh, Reading Fest and Download like i want to then this may have to change.

Starting university this year has got to be one of the best decisions I have ever made and to think that I nearly didn't go is quite scary. I now know exactly who I and what I want to do with my life and whatever area of journalism I get into it's got to be music based. Spending my weeks learning aobut music is my dream and although the works hard at times I know everything I learn will help me in the future. I've made 3 of the most amazing friends and they make going in each morning worth while & I hope thats going to continue all the way to 2010 when we have to enter the big wide world of a proper job.

In 2009 I hope too:
  • Dye my hair red.
  • Get my nose pierced.
  • Actually be happy with what I look like.
  • Get a decent haircut that I like for more than a week.
  • Get my first tattoo.
  • Find a nice man friend.
  • Meet more amazing people.
  • Go to Reading festival.
  • Go and visit Holly in Southampton.
  • Spend more time with friends I dont see as much.
  • Try and fix friendships.
  • Go and see Dawn and Kim in Portsmouth.
  • Go to Norwich and visit Sabby.
  • Buy Sabby a pet cat.
  • See Kings O f Leon!!!
  • Actually meet Dringy.
  • Learn to play the guitar properly.
  • Go to loads of gigs.
  • Go to Manchester and see Alex's new crib.
  • Visit Tom at Cambridge aka Hogwarts.
  • Go to Japan.
  • Have lots of drunken nights out.
  • See Slipknot.
  • Make more of an effort with uni work.
  • Actually do something decent for my birthday and NYE.

Theres probably loads more i'd like to do but most of all I just want to make 2009 AMAZING!!
